Tesla Opens New Port Coquitlam EV Hub | 80 Jobs & Expanded Lower Mainland Service
Tesla Launches Major EV Hub in Port Coquitlam, Adding 80 Jobs and Enhanced Service for Lower Mainland Drivers
This August, Tesla is opening a new, state-of-the-art electric vehicle hub in Port Coquitlam, bringing 80 jobs to the area and expanding service capabilities for the region’s growing fleet of Teslas. The 60,000-square-foot facility on Nicola Avenue will focus on vehicle repairs, servicing, and deliveries.
Strategically located on a 7.53-acre site in the Dominion Triangle near Home Depot, the center sits off Lougheed Highway between Costco and Canadian Tire. With 650 parking spaces, the hub is designed primarily for service and maintenance rather than retail sales, distinguishing it from a traditional dealership.
The Port Coquitlam project received unanimous approval from the city council in September 2023, after a smooth review process over the summer. Construction was completed in time for the August opening, with Bosa Properties overseeing development and approvals.
Once operational, the facility is expected to deliver 75% of new Teslas in the Lower Mainland and can service up to 50 vehicles per day. Mobile repair units will also allow technicians to perform maintenance at customers’ homes. Vehicles arrive from Tesla’s factories in the U.S. and Shanghai before being distributed to local owners.
Port Coquitlam was a strategic choice for Tesla. The company holds 51% of British Columbia’s electric vehicle market, with approximately 32,000 Teslas on Metro Vancouver roads—accounting for 79% of all Teslas in the province. This hub complements Tesla’s larger 120,000-square-foot Vancouver facility, located just 17 miles to the west.
The development brings a host of infrastructure upgrades to the area, including new curbs, gutters, sidewalks, drainage systems, street trees, lighting, water mains, sewer systems, and fire hydrants along Nicola Avenue.
Tesla is celebrating the hub’s opening with a public event on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can test drive the latest models, tour the facility, enjoy live music, and meet Tesla staff. RSVP is required as space is limited.
The Port Coquitlam center is part of Tesla’s ongoing expansion across North America, supporting the increasing adoption of electric vehicles. The site also features an 11,000-square-foot northern building for additional operational needs.
